Beautiful handmade kilts for highland dancers around the world are made from 10oz / 11oz modern dress tartan cloth; lighter than the 13oz weight of a traditional man’s kilt
We pride ourselves on the craftsmanship and fit of our kilts for our dancers, we are happy to arrange as many fittings and adjustments in the production process as is necessary to achieve a perfect fit!
A labour of love...
Heather and Tweed kilts are handmade with care and will last for many years
- Younger highland dancers’ kilts are typically made with 5 to 6 yards of cloth
- Teens and adult dancers will typically have 6 to 7 yards of cloth
- Men’s medium / heavy weight tartan kilts will start from 8 yards
- Ladies’ kilts can be made to any length, with inserts of velvet or contrasting tweeds and tartan, as requested
- We love to put our own twist on the traditional kilt - tweed cloth can make a beautiful modern kilt for both men and ladies
